Anti Napster Lars ulrich has Tinnitus (ringing in the ears GUARD YOUR EARS with earguard)

Added On December 28, 2009 Listening to loud sounds without ear protection can do serious damage to your ears, as CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta Reports. www.medicinenet.com ‘Tinnitus is a ringing, swishing, or other type of noise that seems to originate in the ear or head. In many cases it is not a serious problem, but rather a nuisance that eventually resolves. It is not a single disease, but a symptom of an underlying condition. Nearly 36 million Americans suffer from this disorder. In almost all cases, only the patient can hear the noise. ‘ — en.wikipedia.org ‘the most common cause for tinnitus is noise-induced hearing loss. Tinnitus and hearing loss can be permanent conditions, and therefore precautionary measures are advisable. If a ringing in the ears is audible following lengthy exposure to a source of loud noise, such as a music concert or an industrial workplace, it means that lasting damage may already have occurred. Prolonged exposure to noise levels as low as 70 dB can result in damage to hearing (see noise health effects). For musicians and DJs, special musicians’ earplugs play a huge role in preventing tinnitus and can lower the volume of the music without distorting the sound and can prevent tinnitus from developing in later years. For anyone operating loud electrical appliances, such as vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, and lawn mowers, earplugs are also helpful in reducing noise exposure.’ www.cnn.com checkout tim ferriss #1 ear protection www.fourhourworkweek.com

When I played really loud with my band, I lost like 50 prosent of my hearing ability from my right ear. But only for a few weeks (thank god). It was only one time, when I forgot my earplugs, and the damage was instant. So use earplugs, that’s what I say.

i’ve been raised to protect my ears as a musician. even though i’m a guitarist i wear ear protection on stage that are used for shooting practice. my little brother wears ear plugs when ever he goes behind the drum set even when practicing or he uses mutes if he doesn’t want to.
