Anyone have tinnitis that sounds more like it is in your brain instead of your ears?

Question by antonedbone: Anyone have tinnitis that sounds more like it is in your brain instead of your ears?
If I think about it, or if it is quiet, I can hear a constant ring in my head….not my ears though, like so many people describe tinnitis to do. It is very hard to explain. It is a constant tone, kinda high pitched, almost like when you take one of those hearing tests when they play the tone that is almost out of our hearing range. I guess it is a high frequency but not a high tone, if that even makes sense. The only thing I know is that it is not in my ears, more like right in the center of my brain. I have panic disorder to boot, so I get to thinking I may have a tumor, or what if this gets increasingly louder to the point I can’t stand it and want to die.
